I’m going to let you in on a little secret from my personal story about meditation.  I remember when I first thought about meditation my immediate reaction was “yeah right! I’m not going to sit crossed legged saying ooooohhhmmmmmm” Hahaha! But even my medical doctor was urging me to learn to meditate. You see I have often struggled with less than perfect physical health and at that point the doctor thought that meditation might help with some of the stress reaction in my body and in turn reduce some of the pain I was in.

Then it finally donned on me that in church we always hear and say “may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight” and it was like a light bulb moment! Of course meditation is mentioned in the Bible! HA! And do you know what happened? I found out that Holy Spirit can also be translated to Holy BREATH! When it comes to breathing there is a basic rhythm but we get out of sync with that rhythm due to stress, feeling rushed and basically forgetting to be intentional about breathing.

THAT’S WHEN MY BREAKTHROUGH HAPPENED!  My misconceptions about meditation were holding me back from wanting to even try it!  (Insert face palm!) LOL

I was resisting meditation even though somewhere inside I knew it would be good for me, but I think I was also embarrassed that I didn’t know HOW to meditate. Now I am able to meditate any time I want. I no longer feel like I’m in constant stress. My body has learned what it feels like to be relaxed and it’s become a big part of my daily routine. And I’ve deepened my Divine Connection to God, Jesus and the Angels.
